Partly fermented in locally made terracotta pots, gently hand plunged with extended time on skins. Basket pressed and matured for 6 months in seasoned French oak. A fresh, bright style.

James Halliday 2021 Grenache Challenge
Handpicked fruit from our vineyard nestled above the Clarendon township, at one of the highest sites in the McLaren Vale wine region. We have been farming this site without any herbicide, insecticide or systemic chemicals and use Indian Runner Ducks to forage undervine, and sheep and alpacas grazing over winter. Gentle handling and winemaking has been utilized every step of the way.
Deep, inky colour with very pretty aromatics that leap out of the glass. Bouncy blackberry fruit like Ribena and chocolate cake. Lovely balanced acidity/tannin structure and a rich, plush texture.
Shiraz always will be the King of McLaren Vale. Ours is grown at two exceptional sites in sunny McLaren Vale.
Made in a blush and bright Rosé style, from a single Grenache vineyard in McLaren Vale. Delicated florals, fresh red fruits and spice on the nose, with a satisfying texture and a crisp, dry finish.
