2024 Clarendon Shiraz

Price range: $60 through $720

For slow dinners and good company.

Handpicked from our Piggott Range vineyard and a neighbouring site on Gosse Road in Clarendon, this Shiraz comes from two of the highest vineyards in McLaren Vale. Both vineyards are dry-grown and organically farmed, with Indian Runner Ducks doing their bit to keep the vines happy.

Around 20% whole bunches are included in the ferment, adding fragrance, spice and some tannin drive. The wine is gently basket pressed before spending 14 months in carefully selected French oak puncheons, with only the finest barrels making the final blend.

Fragrant and finely structured, with a supple palate, fine tannins and plenty of length.

When the occasion calls for something special.

Awards

  • 97 points, Halliday Wine Companion."The future is about wines of place. Wines that thrill. Wines like this. Beguiling in its perfume, with warm spice and blue/purple floral notes billowing over blueberry, boysenberry, black cherry, freshly ground fruity coffee, a faint crack of twigs and autumn leaves in the background, along with a rocky mineral presence. And then the palate, with a supple textural flow, a gracious ease, corralled by such fine but complex tannins and measured yet fresh acidity. A truly beautiful thing."Marcus Ellis, May 2026
