This biodynamically farmed vineyard sits at the western entrance to the McLaren Vale township in the Seaview sub-region, with spectacular views over the Gulf St Vincent. The MAT-7 clone of Sangiovese was planted here in 2005 on limestone-laden soils, with the neighbouring quarry still functioning in the gully below. The noble Mediterranean variety thrives here in full sunshine with cool coastal breezes at night. The bunches at this site are naturally smaller, due to the bony, limestone and rugged landscape. We hand pick the fruit slightly early in the season to retain pristine fruit with delicate flavours and a tightly coiled acid structure.
